Toyota has unveiled a revised version of its Vitz hatchback. Better known as the Yaris in North America, it is likely that we will see the updated car on our shores in the near future. hit read more for details.
Ditching the current Vitz’ softer lines, the updated car receives a new front fascia with sharper lines. The overall look is more in line with Toyota’s current design language, and one that will probably be adopted by most of Toyota’s models moving forward.
Although still compact at 3,885mm in length, the third-generation Vitz provides 35mm more interior length than the outgoing model. All of that extra room provides a move livable backseat for the compact hatch.
Global markets will get the choice of three engine packages – displacing 1.0L, 1.3L and 1.5L – but the North American version will likely continue with the current 1.5L unit.
No word on when we might see a new Yaris on our shores, but expect more on the subject in the coming weeks.
