Audi has taken the wraps off a new track-only TT model. Dubbed the Audi TT GT4 concept, the coupe is largely based on the range-topping TT RS and is aimed at private racers.
Developed by the Technical Development and Audi’s Quattro GmbH division, the TT GT4 sports a number of changes to help with its on-track prowess. Starting with a motorsports body, the TT GT4 was then fitted with a racing-spec roll cage, plastic windows, a new fuel tank and the same spoilers found on the TT RS.
Also borrowed from the TT RS is the TT GT4’s 2.5L five-cylinder engine, developing 340 horsepower. That power is shifted via Audi’s S-tronic gearbox with a differential lock.
To ensure the TT GT4 stays glued to the track, Audi has fitted it with a revised suspension – including adjustable dampers – and race-ready 18 inch wheels.
The TT GT4 will be sold in Europe and Asia, carrying a starting price of about $156,000. Audi currently doesn’t have any plans to sell the TT GT4 in North America.
