Nokia has started shipping the C6-01 worldwide and you will soon be seeing this in retail stores in Pakistan (within a month or at the maximum two would be my guess). So I thought we can review it for all those of you who don't want to dish out the Rs. 50,000/- it costs to get an N8 but still want an upgrade in your symbian experience. This smartphone comes with a 5 MP camera with LED flash and auto focus. It has a full QWERTY landscape slider keyboard. It has a TFT resistive touchscreen, 16M colors with the Size of 360 x 640 pixels, 3.2 inches. It has a Proximity sensor for auto turn-off and an Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate. It runs on Symbian's latest iteration Symbian ^3 and will be a delight for most of the Nokia up graders.

If you have used the Apple iPhone or Samsung's Bada devices or any of the Android devices, you should stay away from this because frankly you would want to throw this out of the window after an hour with the device. I have come to the conclusion that until Symbian does not get a major User Interface revamp, it is simply not an OS for touchscreen phones and Nokia falling market share at the time of the rise of touchscreen phones proves my point.

This is a reasonable price for the features included and I can assume that this device will be a hit in the Pakistani market as our market is dominated by Nokia and this device has excellent price/functionality ratio. For all those customers who are loyal to Nokia and are used to the Symbian UI, they will be happy to see the slight tweaks in the UI here and will not be disappointed in this device as Nokia C6-01 has an extremely solid (read: metal) construction that should make this a good choice for the Symbian faithful looking for an upgrade option that saves a few rupees.
