The HAARP program - Research or the true Weapon of Mass destruction?
As researchers in the world of technology find novel ways to make our lives easier and we are dazzled with the innovations that are making our lives and everyday chores increasingly easy and comfortable we forget that the same technologies have a bad side too. And the advances in those technologies are coming up with methods that are immensely powerful and have the capacity to wreak havoc in the world. One such technology is being developed by US researchers called the HAARP project.

On the face of it, this program is a uniquely benign research project, but as you dive deep into the information available you find a striking peculiarity within the very nature of the project. The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is an ionospheric research program on an Air Force owned site near Gakona, Alaska. This project is financed by US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Now why would a research project made for pure civilian reasons be funded by the Department of Defense?
Im sure you are wondering what this is all about and what exactly is the nature of the research that they are conducting here. Well this project works on physicist Bernard J. Eastlund's U.S. Patent from 1987 titled "Method and Apparatus for Altering a Region in the Earth's Atmosphere, Ionosphere, and/or Magnetosphere" (US #4,686,605). Eastlund's patent is based, in part, on the works of Nikola Tesla, who first suggested that RF could transmit approximately one watt per cubic centimeter to any point on the planet without the use of wires. Thus, power can generated on the ground and then sent through the air to the upper areas of the atmosphere miles above the surface of the planet.
Eastlund explained in his patent application that by influencing the ionosphere, methods of communication disruption, missile shielding and weather modification are possible. His second patent described the reflection of a second signal, using a previously "heated" ionospheric bulge, to distant locations on the Earth's surface essentially controlling weather anywhere you want on earth! The HAARP project aims to direct a 3.6 MW signal, in the 2.8-10 MHz region of the HF band, into the ionosphere.
Even if the HAARP program is experimenting with weather control, ground-based weather control could soon be surpassed by theoretical solar powered satellite-based systems with a possible power output of 1,000 megawatts. NASA, and the European Space Agency has been researching the possibility of such satellites being used as an energy source, transmitting power to Earth with concentrated beams of microwaves. With a fleet of these powerful satellites using the same RF principals used by HAARP, it is conceivable that the weather over any geographic location could be modified at will.
In fact, radio operators who routinely monitor HAARP transmissions have noted an increase in RF output from the station right before hurricanes Katrina and Rita grew into dangerous storms. Also in an article by the very well known academic in Pakistan Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan noted that he used his contacts in the MET department and other agencies who monitor weather before the intense rains that caused the worst flooding in the history Pakistan this year. He found out that there were unusual changes in the weather and even though the prediction of weather is not accurate, it can be fairly accurate when they predict something that cannot happen. For example, they can fairly accurately predict the chances of snow in the summer. The same way, it was not supposed to rain as heavily as it did according to this article in the Sunday Dawn magazine.
Although like many things in history this will not be proven easily, possibly even, never. But what caught my attention was as AQ Khan notes, the European Union has passed a resolution that they are submitting in the U.N. about their concerns about this project and is effects on other countries. They want a closer watch to be allowed by the international community to make sure that this the project is not used to harm other nations. Although I had been following this project closely since the past several years, this announcement lays pretty strong credence to all the conspiracy theories that are going around. Whatever the truth is, we must keep a close eye on this project as it has a huge potential if used for good as well.
